OUR CATTERY

Lions Gait Cattery is a TICA registered ethical small scale cattery. Our focus is on the care and health of our breeding cats and their kittens. We work toward producing the healthiest kittens possible which means extensive testing and research.

Our breeding stock is genetically tested by Optimal Selection for over 40 possible hereditary illnesses including HCM, SMA, PK Def, PKD, Factor XII deficiency (Hageman disorder), MDR1, and Cystinuria. Our cattery tests for FeLV and FIV, hip dysplasia, ECG for heart defects, bite alignment and gum health. We believe in vaccination, but not over-vaccination (yearly). Ask your vet about antibody titer testing.

Our females have full roam of a two storey house and access to an enclosed patio (catio). On nice days, our male also enjoys the outdoors safely in a large, enclosed area. In winter, he gets a large windowed room that has been altered to accommodate male territory marking. He gets lots of human interaction, toys, and playtime.

We work hard morning to night, every day. There are no vacations, no sick days, no days off.  Our cats receive constant care and catering to their needs, mental and physical. In the near future, we hope to be able to work with new foundation lines to increase overall long-term health of the breed.

Kittens leave the cattery after a minimum of  12 weeks with 2 sets of core vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, flea prevention, veterinary certificate of health, sales contract, and pedigree registration documents.

We do not offer breeding rights at this time.
