Welcome to Lions Gait Cattery! We are passionate breeders dedicated to producing healthy, well-tempered Maine Coon kittens. Our cats are part of our family and live in our home. We focus on health testing, proper socialization, and breed-standard temperament to ensure every kitten goes to their new family happy and healthy.
Meet the Breeder
I'm Katie, The Owner, Care Taker, Groomer, Chin Scratcher & Poop Scooper of Lions Gait Cattery! I am a certified pet groomer and have spent my life working with all types of animals. I enjoy continuing my pet education and providing animals with all the love and care they deserve. After getting my first Maine Coon, I found myself at cat shows and my world soon became very much about this very majestic and beautiful cat breed! Our Facilities & Philosophy
Our females have full roam of one level of our home. All of our cats have access to an enclosed patio (catio). Our males each have their own large windowed room that has been altered to accommodate male territory marking with their own individual catios attached. They get lots of human interaction, toys, and playtime. We work hard morning to night, every day. There are no vacations, no sick days, no days off. Our cats receive constant care and catering to their needs, mental and physical.
Health & Testing Standards
Lions Gait Cattery is a TICA registered ethical small scale cattery. Our focus is on the care and health of our breeding cats and their kittens. We work toward producing the healthiest kittens possible which means extensive testing and research. Our breeding stock is genetically tested by Optimal Selection for over 40 possible hereditary illnesses including HCM, SMA, PK Def, PKD, Factor XII deficiency (Hageman disorder), MDR1, and Cystinuria.
